Rebuilding Beirut: Fashion Brands Pledge Their Support to Lebanon | Savoir Flair

Many lives were lost and hundreds were injured in Beirut last week. Those who survived helplessly watched their beloved homes and neighborhoods collapse as the catastrophic explosion on August 4 sent shockwaves through the beautiful Lebanese capital. The horrifying aftermath of the explosion included Beirutis taking to the streets with brooms and shovels to clean rubble and debris, rescuing survivors, and carrying the injured and elderly to safety. More than 300,000 people were left homeless, forcing the wounded, terrified, and grieving to seek shelter.

Needless to say, this catastrophe will leave a lasting impact on the people of Beirut in more ways than any of us can imagine. Their pain and suffering – albeit heart-shattering – is unfathomable to most of us. However, we can step up and help the city rebuild. While there are many ways to do so, fashion businesses around the globe have pledged their sales proceeds or a part of them to provide aid to the victims of the deadly explosion.
